Italian Roast is our darkest roast, which means
roasting the beans to our hottest temperature.
Our coffee experts have blended beans from
multiple origins to add complexity but sourced the sturdiest beans
that can take the heat without losing any of the chocolaty and
This coffee will taste its best when freshly ground, so only
grind as much as you need at any one time; fine for espresso or
medium for plunger or filter.
Plunger - Use one heaped dessertspoon of medium grind coffee per
cup, pour in hot, not boiling, water, and stir. Leave for 3 minutes
before plunging to infuse all the flavours, then enjoy.
Filter -Use one dessertspoon of medium ground coffee per cup. Brew
only as much as you expect to drink. If you're after a stronger
brew, just use a little more coffee.
Espresso- To make a great espresso with perfect crema, fill the
filter basket with finely ground coffee til it's slightly heaped.
Compress the grounds firmly and evenly, using a tamper.
Stovetop - Fill the bottom part with cold water (not past the steam
valve) and the filter basket with finely ground coffee. Heap the
coffee a bit then tamp it down gently with your fingers. Screw the
top on tightly and place on the heat until it boils. Remove from
heat and have a quick peek once the sounds of bubbling and
splashing taper off. If the espresso has stopped pouring out of the
centre, you're done
Store in an air-tight container.
